On March 11, nationalists held their annual procession through the central street of Vilnius, chanting the controversial slogan "Lithuania for Lithuanians." In 2008, the procession caused a wave of indignation from society due to anti-Semitic slogans, including "Juden Raus" (Jews out). However, while in recent years there was an increase in the number of participants, 2015 saw the reverse – only a thousand people attended. This year, four times more people participated in an alternate event that day, which proceeded without any nationalist slogans and emphasized the unity of all citizens.
