The European Committee for the Prevention of Torture has just made public their report following a visit to Spain in July 2014. The report addresses issues related to migration control policies in Spain and concludes that the conditions in the Immigrant Detention Centers do not comply with international standards and that some of the practices detected at border crossings, such as summary returns, are contrary to international law. Regrettably, the Spanish state has not accepted the majority of the committee’s recommendations.
