For the first time in history, the European Citizens' Prize was awarded to an organization in Lithuania. The Lithuanian Forum of the Disabled (LNF) was awarded for their exceptional achievements in fostering better understanding between the residents of member states, promoting closer integration and EU values. LNF is the largest umbrella organization representing the rights of people with disabilities in Lithuania. The organization encompasses 14 NGOs representing the disabled — around 300,000 disabled individuals together with their family members in Lithuania.
