Passengers at some of Europe’s airports will soon be questioned by artificial intelligence-powered lie detectors at border checks, as part of an EU trial of the technology. Flying passengers will be asked travel-related questions by a virtual border guard with an avatar face on the screen and artificial intelligence will monitor travelers' faces to assess whether they are lying. The project, named iBorderCtrl, costs 4.5 million euros and will be deployed at airports in Hungary, Latvia and Greece on passengers traveling from outside the EU.
