The Dutch minister of justice and security, Ferdinand Grappenhaus, wants to adjust criminal law in order to be able to act against radical imams. He announced this during the parliamentary round of questions last Tuesday, 27 March 27. Grappenhaus considers this adjustment desirable after it appeared that a Dutch Imam could not be prosecuted for describing the mayor of Rotterdam as an "enemy of Islam." Adaptations to criminal law should provide for this, according to the minister, even when this results in a restriction of the freedom of expression.
