The flood of refugees in Europe "doesn’t accept a passive attitude" and an integrated approach should be adopted that contains, among other things, international conflict management, shelter in the region, and more attention to fighting human trafficking. These words were spoken by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in the King's Speech, an annual address to the public about government plans for the upcoming year. The increasing tensions at Europe’s borders and their consequences for the continent and the Netherlands formed a central part of his speech.
