An increasing number of Czechs are convinced that foreigners should not be allowed to have long-term residency in their country. Since last March, the number of Czech citizens who believe this has increased from 11 to 16 percent, the highest level since 2007. Seventy percent think foreigners should adopt local customs, while only two percent think they should be able to live according to their traditional customs. About 65 percent believe foreign residents cause crime and unemployment rates to rise, and more than half think they represent a health risk.
