NGOs and Croatia's ombudswoman for people with disabilities conducted during 2015 and 2016 the research "Motherhood and women with disabilities". The aim was to acquire new knowledge in the insufficiently researched field of the motherhood of women with disabilities. Research has shown that women with disabilities are not sufficiently aware of their reproductive rights, and the most of them educate themselves alone, on the Internet (69 percent) and through NGOs or association for persons with disabilities (64 percent). Also, they don't get information from health care professionals.
