A recent decision by the Court of Appeal of Szeged called for the dissolution of the extremist Civil Guard Association For a Better Future, which has become known for its "patrolling" in Gyöngyöspata. The dissolution of the association was first initiated by the Legal Defense Bureau for National and Ethnic Minorities in 2011. HCLU welcomes the decision that overturned the controversial first instance judgment of the Court of Gyula and held that the activities of the far-right group repeatedly violated human rights, thus not falling within the rights to free association and peaceful assembly.
