An investigative journalist was killed in the Bulgarian city of Ruse on Saturday. The body of Viktoria Marinova, a 30-year-old reporter, who worked for television station TVN, was found in a park. Interior Minister Mladen Marinov later confirmed she had also been raped. Her death has drawn international condemnation in the light of the homicides of three other journalists across Europe in the last 12 months. Ruse regional prosecutor Georgy Georgiev stated Ms Marinova had suffered blows to the head and was asphixiated. Her mobile phone, car keys, glasses and some of her clothes were missing.
