Manfred Weber, the head of the European People's Party (EPP) – and since last week a candidate for the next EC president – announced on Tuesday that his party will vote against EPP member Fidesz in the Sargentini report. The report on the health of Hungary's democracy calls to trigger the Article 7 procedure. The EP vote marks an unprecedented move and needs a two-thirds majority, with at least 376 MEPs casting their votes. Getting the two-thirds figure largely depends on how Orban's allies in the EPP vote. "I will vote tomorrow in favour of Article 7. We've had enough dialogue," Weber said.
