US Report: Religious Minorities Harassed in Bulgaria

Members of Bulgarian far-right parties have harassed and threatened Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses with impunity. Jehovah's Witnesses complain that municipalities prevent them from expressing their religious beliefs. Muslim and Catholic communities lament that the authorities do not allow them to build temples and refuse to acknowledge existing ones. Jewish organizations complain about politicians, most often members of the ruling far-right parties, who express anti-Semitic neo-Nazi views. These are some of the highlights in a new report on Bulgaria by the US State Department.
