The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the body that trains and accredits most Irish obstetricians, has come out in support of repealing the Eighth Amendment. The college issued a statement saying it stands ready to train Irish doctors to provide abortion services if the referendum is passed on 25 May. Most Irish gynaecologists and obstetricians are members of the body, and a separate Irish group, the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, has also said it supports a Yes vote.
