The Czech Constitutional Court has issued a judgment that is in many respects a legal breakthrough for the country. The court ruled on 14 February that persons with disabilities who are in a difficult social situation do have a public right to appropriate social care services being made available. It is a social right of a more general nature, which is reflected in the duty of public authorities (regional governments) to provide access to appropriate social services for the persons concerned.
