As alarm grows about Russia's propaganda campaign, the EU has said it will spend €1.1 million on training diplomats to monitor fake news. This money, as well as nearly €4 million in related expenses, will be part of next year's budget. "We have become aware that disinformation is a risk for the EU and we are ready to tackle it," Siegfried Muresan, the MEP in charge of the file, told EUobserver.
