Italy's Home Affairs Cabinet Chief: 'No Pushbacks to Libya'

"I don’t believe the allegations by Amnesty International or the Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner: they still have to find the electric batons we are said to use in hotspots, and they still have to prove that Italy is taking part in the pushbacks of migrants to Libya”, said Mario Morcone, cabinet head of the Italian Ministry of Home Affairs, during the presentation of the 2017 Report on International Protection in Italy, giving way to an heated debate with civil society representatives attending the conference.
