Acting against the arrival of migrants with no legal rights in the EU is the top crime policy priority among member states, according to the chair of an internal security group at the European Council. Erkki Koort, speaking to MEPs on Tuesday, said that the "facilitation of illegal migration" involves more countries than the fight against terrorism or online child pornography. Second on the list is human trafficking, followed by synthetic drugs, cannabis and cocaine. Weapons trafficking and child sexual exploitation finished near the bottom of the priorities, as did value-added tax fraud.
