Italy has sent its ambassador back to Egypt despite the lack of an progress in the investigation into the death of Giulio Regeni. "The truth is that the relationship with Egypt is extremely important for Italy's economy and commerce, and because it can help to contain migration fluxes," said Patrizio Gonnella, president of CILD. "This is why for the authorities, human rights violations and the truth for Giulio can wait." CILD stands with Giulio's family in keeping pressure on the Italian authorities and monitoring the evolution of the investigation.
