CILD, Antigone and other civil rights organizations recently held a protest in front of the Italian Parliament against the approval of the decree on immigration, which the groups consider detrimental to migrants. Similar concerns have been raised about the proposed Security Decree, also set to be approved soon, whose regulations threaten to increase discrimination and marginalization of social groups that are already disadvantaged and considered as social outcasts.

These decrees, far from taking steps toward policies of acceptance and integration, threaten an already delicate social balance.
