Czech MPs decided not to pass a proposal allowing spontaneous public assemblies (those that are not first reported to authorities). Moreover, the list of those who may announce public assemblies will not be broaden. On the contrary, the right to dissolve such an assembly is given to, apart from the officials, the police. The Cabinet wanted to legalize unplanned demonstrations without fear of reprisal in cases of immediate response to an unexpected event, such as the death of a celebrity or a terrorist attack, but the Czech Parliament dropped this provision amid fears that it could be abused.
