Le Nazioni Unite accusano le autorità ceche di "violazioni sistematiche dei diritti umani" per il modo in cui trattano i rifugiati e i migranti. Il responsabile ONU per i diritti umani, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, ha dichiarato che la Repubblica Ceca trattiene i migranti in condizioni "degradanti" per un periodo che può arrivare a 90 giorni e molte persone sono state perquisite in cerca di denaro per farle contribuire alle spese della loro detenzione. Ha criticato anche le dichiarazioni "islamofobiche" rilasciate dal presidente ceco Milos Zeman.
