Si stima che il 40% saranno siriani, gruppo largamente maggioritario, ma la domanda per il reinsediamento supera di gran lunga le opportunità disponibili. L'Alto Commissario per i Rifugiati Filippo Grandi ha dichiarato che "il reinsediamento sta arrivando a un nuovo livello" considerato che nel 2014 il numero di persone che necessitava di reinsediamento era 691,000.
