"La società manda le persone in situazioni di guerra, ma non vuole conoscere il prezzo che pagano per questo, '', conclude Diekstra. "Accade troppo spesso che i veterani si suicidano," commenta Leo Hartog di DMV. "Registrando i suicidi è possibile fornire un aiuto mirato ad altri. Al momento non abbiamo idea di quali siano i problemi." Il ministero della Difesa olandese non ha raccolto segnali che indicano che i veterani si suicidano più spesso.
