Un'indagine su oltre 3,700 giovani lesbiche, gay, bisessuali e transessuali nel Regno Unito ha rivelato che 8 su 10 hanno commesso atti di autolesionismo e quasi la metà ha tentato il suicidio. I risultati evidenziano che se le aggressioni LGBT sono diminuite negli ultimi 5 anni, l'impatto sul benessere e la formazione dei giovani resta significativo. Lo studio, realizzato dall'organizzazione Stonewall, rivela che tra i giovani alunni trans, uno su dieci (il 9%) ha ricevuto minacce di morte a scuola, l'84% di loro dichiara di aver agito autolesionismo e il 45% di aver tentato il suicidio.
