Questo non dovrebbe accadere in un paese dell'Unione Europea," ha dichiarato a febbraio il vice-presidente austriaco del Parlamento Europeo Ulrike Lunacek. La Commissione Europea ha già inviato una richiesta formale alla Lituania riguardo alle restrizioni sulle informazioni che "incoraggiano un concetto di famiglia diverso da quello prescritto dalla legge."
