Il 17 maggio la Commissione Giuridica del Parlamento Lituano ha respinto il disegno di legge di modifica costituzionale che mira ad introdurre una definizione di famiglia come derivante esclusivamente da matrimonio eterosessuale e genitorialità. Il destino del disegno di legge sarà deciso alla fine di maggio o a inizio giugno, quando il Parlamento voterà sulle conclusioni della commissione.
