Il 20 ottobre il partito conservatore ha presentato la proposta al Seimas (Parlamento) di aggiungere la Conferenza Episcopale Lituana all'elenco dei membri fondatori della nuova associazione sulla comunicazione pubblica etica - un ente di comunicazione autogestito in fase di costituzione. Secondo il presidente dell'Unione dei Giornalisti Lituani, questa proposta avventata crea una situazione senza precedenti per cui il rappresentante di una specifica fede è - per ragioni del tutto oscure - incluso tra i membri fondatori di un'associazione per la stampa e i giornalisti.
