Dieci ONG sollecitano il Parlamento Europeo con una lettera aperta affinché si opponga alla nomina del Commissario Günter Oettinger a capo delle risorse umane della CE. Citano una serie di suoi commenti sessisti, razzisti e omofobici, che lo rendono inadeguato a dirigere un dipartimento dedicato a garantire uguaglianza, non discriminazione e etica nello staff della Commissione. Inoltre, Oettinger ha avuto rapporti discutibili con lobbisti, in un caso accettando un volo su un jet privato di un lobbista non dichiarato. Il 9 gennaio parteciperà all'udienza in Parlamento sull'idoneità al ruolo.
