Gli attivisti per i diritti umani temono che la legge possa danneggiare il benessere dei bambini migranti e indebolire le loro opportunità di integrarsi nella società svedese. Il disegno di legge limita temporaneamente alcuni diritti tutelati dalla legge svedese sull'asilo al momento in vigore. "La Svezia non può sacrificare il benessere dei bambini vulnerabili per rendere il paese meno attrattivo per i richiedenti asilo," ha dichiarato Rebecca Riddell di Human Rights Watch.
