Il segretario generale dell'ONU ieri ha annunciato la nomina del croato Ivan Šimonović a consulente speciale sulla responsabilità di tutela. Šimonović, che al momento è presidente dell'Agenzia dell'Alto Commissario per i Diritti Umani di New York, assumerà la sua nuova carica il 1 ottobre 2016. In un comunicato dell'ONU si legge che Šimonović lavorerà per "sviluppare da un punto di vista politico, istituzionale e operativo il principio della responsabilità di tutela." Prima di arrivare all'ONU nel 2010, Šimonović è stato ministro della giustizia in Croazia.
