Secondo un'indagine pubblicata a febbraio, l'80% delle comunità religiose minoritarie in Lituania si sente discriminata, in primis dalla Chiesa Cattolica. Molti degli intervistati lamentano che la società li percepisce come settari e considera le loro comunità religiose delle sette. Tra i partecipanti all'indagine c'erano membri di Parola di Fede, Battisti, Avventisti del Settimo Giorno, Chiesa Nuova Generazione, antiche fedi Baltiche e altre comunità. Sebbene 920 comunità religiose siano attive in Lituania, oltre il 77% dei Lituani si definisce Cattolico.
