Rispondendo alla promessa di un disegno di legge britannico sui diritti che sostituirebbe lo Human Rights Act fatta dal Primo Ministro David Cameron nel suo discorso alla Conferenza del Partito Conservatore, Shami Chakrabarti, direttore di Liberty ha affermato:
"Che vergogna che il primo ministro citi Churchill, mentre aveva promesso di superarlo. La Convenzione protegge sia i prigionieri di guerra che i soldati mandati a combattere e morire con equipaggiamenti inadeguati.
Ma il primo ministro crede che non ci sia posto per i diritti umani ad Helmand - su questo, lui e ISIS sono daccordo."
