I malati di sclerosi multipla, grave epilessia o in chemioterapia potrebbero ottenerla se il governo irlandese dovesse approvare la proposta di legge. Il governo potrebbe dire sì nonostante il rapporto metta in guardia sulla "assenza di dati scientifici a dimostrazione dell'efficacia della cannabis" e sulle "insufficienti informazioni sulla sicurezza dell'utilizzo nel lungo periodo per il trattamento di patologie croniche".
