Gli esperti europei in tema di tratta sollecitano le autorità irlandesi a migliorare l'identificazione delle vittime di tratta e a rivedere le politiche abitative delle presunte vittime, che al momento si trovano nei centri di accoglienza per richiedenti asilo. Le raccomandazioni sono contenute nell'ultimo rapporto sull'Irlanda del Gruppo di Esperti nell'Intervento contro la Tratta di Esseri Umani del Consiglio d'Europa. In base ai dati ufficiali, tra il 2012 e il 2016 le presunte vittime di tratta di esseri umani sono state 311. Tra queste, 197 sono donne e 94 bambini.
