Defend Europe è il nome della nuova estremamente preoccupante iniziativa di protezione della "patria" da parte di un'organizzazione europea di estrema destra. Alcuni mesi fa attivisti italiani, francesi e tedeschi hanno lanciato una campagna di crowdfunding per noleggiare una nave attraverso PayPal, che ha poi bloccato le donazioni non appena ha scoperto l'obiettivo. Ciononostante sono riusciti a noleggiare la nave ed ora si dirigono verso il Mediterraneo. L'obiettivo è assicurarsi che i migranti siano gestiti dalla Guardia Costiera Libica anziché da ONG e non possano mai arrivare in Europa.
