Il segretario del commercio estero francese, Matthias Fekl, ha dichiarato che il paese intende fermare i negoziati sul Partenariato trans-atlantico per il commercio e gli investimenti (TTIP) tra UE e USA perché "è venuto meno il consenso politico". Una mozione formale per fermare i negoziati sarà presentata ad un incontro tra i ministri del commercio estero dell'UE che si terrà a Bratislava il prossimo mese. Il TTIP creerebbe la più grande area di libero commercio al mondo, ma di recente è cresciuta l'opposizione all'accordo perché i governi europei temono che il trattato favorisca gli USA.
