Un ex professore malato terminale si è rivolto al tribunale per essere autorizzato a ricevere assistenza a morire in casa, circondato dalla sua famiglia. Nel novembre 2014 Noel Conway, 67 anni, si è visto diagnosticare la sclerosi laterale amiotrofica, una malattia incurabile. Il suicidio assistito è vietato nel Regno Unito e l'eutanasia è considerata un omicidio ai sensi della legge inglese e gallese. Conway spera che il tribunale stabilisca dei criteri e delle procedure affinché i malati terminali adulti possano scegliere di porre fine alle loro vite.
