Il 28 e 29 aprile la Spagna è stata sottoposta ad un'ispezione del Comitato ONU contro la tortura. Le domande poste dai membri del comitato hanno riguardato l'uso dell'isolamento, l'impunità della polizia accusata di tortura, la mancanza del reato di tortura come previsto dalla Convenzione, le violenze commesse durante i controlli sull'immigrazione alle frontiere di Ceuta e Melilla e l'uso della forza durante le manifestazioni pubbliche. Nelle prossime settimane il comitato pubbicherà le sue osservazioni conclusive riguardo alla Spagna, unitamente a specifiche raccomandazioni.
