In risposta agli eventi recenti, le ONG che promuovono i diritti delle donne in Germania hanno lanciato una petizione e chiedono la riforma del Codice Penale Tedesco. I fatti: in Germania, circa un donna su sette subisce violenze sessuali. Ogni anno vengono denunciati 8,000 stupri e la quota di donne che non denuncia uno stupro è molto alta (tra l'85 e il 95%). Gli stupratori denunciati raramente vengono condannati. Nel 2012, solo l'8.4% delle donne che ha denunciato una violenza ha visto condannare il suo aggressore. L'organizzazione ausnahmslos.org al contempo si batte contro il razzismo.
