La campagna per le elezioni presidenziali in Repubblica Ceca si è accesa dopo che i sostenitori di Milos Zeman hanno pubblicato spot con scritto "Ferma l'immigrazione e Drahoš, questo paese è nostro, vota Zeman." Se il suo avversario, l'accademico filo-UE Jiří Drahoš, ha incentrato la sua campagna sull'immigrazione, non ha mai detto di voler aprire il paese ai migranti, né di approvar il sistema delle quote voluto da Bruxelles. Zeman lotta anche contro la disinformazione. Gli elettori hanno ricevuto volantini falsi in cui si diceva che sarebbe passato automaticamente al secondo turno.
