E' stata eletta il 13 gennaio con il sostegno di 83 parlamentari. La Camera ha dovuto effettuare quattro votazioni per scegliere un nuovo presidente. "Sono un pò commossa," ha dichiarato Arib subito dopo aver ricevuto il martelletto. Sarà la presidente di tutti, ha aggiunto, e si impegnerà con tutta se stessa per "intervenire dove sarà necessario."
