Migliaia di persone hanno manifestato mercoledì a Francoforte contro l'apertura della nuova sede della Banca Centrale Europea. La protesta è iniziata la mattina presto e ha creato ingenti danni e 350 feriti, tra cui 150 poliziotti. Nel pomeriggio circa 20,000 persone hanno partecipato ad una manifestazione più pacifica a Römerberg, centro storico di Francoforte. Il Parlamento tedesco ha condannato le violenze e ha criticato gli organizzatori di Blockupy, il cui portavoce Frederic Wester ha dichiarato che una tale escalation non era un loro obiettivo.
