I tempi per valutare le richieste di asilo in Germania sono saliti a una media di 8.1 mesi alla fine del 2016, contro una media di 5.2 mesi di un anno fa, lo riporta l'Ufficio Federale per l'Immigrazione e l'Asilo. Le richieste da parte di Somali, Turchi e Russi hanno i tempi di valutazione più lunghi, circa 14-17 mesi. Dall'altro lato, i richiedenti asilo siriani hanno dovuto aspettare "soltanto" 3.8 mesi per la risposta. Anche le richieste più vecchie sono soggette a ritardi: 58,848 persone hanno dovuto aspettare oltre 18 mesi alla fine del 2016, contro i 46,066 di fine 2015.
