La privacy del pazienti non è stata adeguatamente tutelata da un ospedale del Regno Unito che ha condiviso i loro dati con Google, secondo la Information Commission (ICO). Il caso riguarda i dati di 1.6 milioni di pazienti che il governo UK ha condiviso con Google DeepMind. I dati sono stati consegnati durante il test di un'app lo scorso anno per sviluppare e perfezionare un sistema di allerta, diagnosi e rilevazione da applicare a pazienti a rischio di sviluppare lesioni acute ai reni. Per l'ICO l'ospedale non ha informato adeguatamente i pazienti su come venivano gestiti i loro dati.
