Per il tribunale ha commesso un "atto di terrorismo" nello scagliare pietre contro la polizia per cercare di aprire i confini. Hamed ha pianto quando la sentenza - la più dura emessa da un tribunale ungherese sul tema della crisi dei migranti - è stata pronunciata. Il gruppo "Free the Roszke 11" si è riunito di fronte al tribunale di Szeged per chiedere la liberazione di Hamed e denunciare quelle che definisce strategie razziste da parte del governo.
