Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter e Google hanno acconsentito a rimuovere i contenuti estremisti, impegnandosi a farlo entro poche ore dalla messa on line. L'impegno da parte delle più grandi società informatiche al mondo è stato preso durante un meeting di due giorni in Italia che ha coinvolto aziende e rappresentanti dei paesi del G7. L'obiettivo è di rimuovere i contenuti jihadisti da internet entro due ore. I rappresentanti del G7 hanno anche chiesto alle aziende di sviluppare sistemi di controllo più efficaci per garantire l'invio di tutti i materiali rimossi alle autorità.
