Il processo di formazione sta durando troppo per il Presidente del Senato Ankie Broekers-Knol. Le elezioni parlamentari sono state il 15 marzo ma VVD (Liberali), CDA (cristiano-democratici), D66 (Liberaldemocratici) e Christenunie (Conservatori cristiani) stanno negoziando da fine giugno la formazione del nuovo governo. Per Broekers-Knol sarebbe 'preoccupante' se questo si traducesse in un accordo sulla formazione: 'la democrazia vive nel dibattito. Se questo dibattito si è già concluso con un documento di 200 pagine - è la mia opinione personale - non è un buon segnale per la democrazia.'
