I parlamentari lituani hanno approvato la modifica alla Legge sulle Comunicazioni Elettroniche che estende le possibilità dei servizi segreti e delle forze dell'ordine di accedere alle informazioni. I provider di servizi comunicativi devono fornire le informazioni necessarie per "prevedere o rimuovere possibili minacce a sovranità dello stato, inviolabilità del territorio, integrità, ordine costituzionale, interessi dello stato, potere di difesa o economico." I servizi possono ora accedere alle informazioni non solo tramite un ordine di un tribunale, ma anche "nei casi previsti dalla legge."
