Il coordinatore dei servizi speciali dell'Agenzia Polacca per la Sicurezza Internazionale ha dichiarato che il precedente governo avrebbe sorvegliato oltre 50 giornalisti. In risposta HFHR ha sottolineato che qualunque forma di sorveglianza dei giornalisti da parte dello stato è una minaccia al privilegio del giornalista. Inoltre, il fatto che il governo abbia pubblicato i nomi dei giornalisti sotto sorveglianza è preoccupante. Se rese pubbliche queste informazioni possono stigmatizzare ulteriormente chi si trova sulla lista e rendere difficile per loro mantenere la fiducia degli informatori.
