El Tribunal Constitucional Federal de Alemania ha dictaminado que los participantes en las manifestaciones pueden producir vídeos e imágenes de la policía sin temor a ser identificados. En el caso en cuestión, la policía también había filmado a los manifestantes. La policía tienen derecho a pedir la documentación solo cuando tenga indicios concretos de que el material vaya a ser publicado. El tribunal dictaminó que la verificación de la identidad viola el derecho a la autodeterminación informativa, que está protegido en virtud de los artículos 1 y 2 de la Constitución
